In the highly competitive Green IT Award (Corporate) category, Greenbox received a Special Commendation by the ACS for their eCycle service.

The Green IT Award recognizes an organisation who has shown leadership in Queensland implementing or persuading organisations or the community to use ICT to contribute to the health of our environment and so provide long-term sustainability.

Shane Mulholland, CEO of Greenbox said that ‘eCycling takes away the two biggest headaches facing Organisations when they replace their equipment (deploying the new and removing the old) and provides a positive financial inducement ensuring end-of-life IT equipment is ethically handled. We are truly honoured to receive this recognition from our industry peers.’

Greenbox, a Queensland SME, has succeeded where the large multinational OEMs have so far failed by providing a seamless, automated, zero-cost, web-based service for the elimination of IT eWaste. The service has been adopted by the largest IT user in Australia (Department of Defence) and also the most security conscious (ASIC) as well as by forward-looking Queensland Organisations such as QUT and the Department of Community Safety. It is an outstanding example of a small Queensland company leading the way and setting a standard to which all others will aspire.

According to the ACS website, ‘The Awards are deliberately chosen to encourage involvement across a spectrum of industries that use ICT. They are a talent scout for innovation and benefit the industry in many ways. The awards provide a platform to form relationships and networks amongst industry, academia, government, affiliated industries and the media.’
