Greenbox wins iAward

Greenbox Systems has been made a finalist at the 2010 National iAwards after being recognised by industry peers at the QLD 2010 AIIA iAwards.

In the QLD state iAwards, Greenbox was awarded the Merit Award in the Sustainability and iawardsGreen IT category sponsored by Fujitsu Australia. On August the 4th Greenbox will represent QLD at the national finals during the phase 2 judging process held at the KPMG offices in Melbourne.

The CEO of Greenbox, Shane Mulholland says 'that 2010 has been a productive year for  organisations such as Greenbox that are forging ahead with innovative solutions to the growing ewaste problem. We have been fortunate to have won awards in both the ACS ICT Awards and now an iAward. It's has taken 10 years to develop our eCycle service and we are pleased to now be providing the industry's most comprehensive solution to the challenges that ewaste causes'.

Greenbox, a Queensland SME, has succeeded where the large multinational OEMs have so far failed by providing a seamless, automated, zero-cost, web-based service for the elimination of IT eWaste. The service has been adopted by the largest IT user in Australia (Department of Defence) and also the most security conscious (ASIC) as well as by forward-looking Queensland Organisations such as QUT and the Department of Community Safety. It is an outstanding example of a small Queensland company leading the way and setting a standard to which all others will aspire.

According to the AIIA's website the iAwards are Australia's ICT industry awards. AIIA runs the iAwards as the Australian member of the Asia-Pacific ICT Awards (APICTA).AIIA is committed to encouraging and nurturing innovation in the Australian ICT industry.  Each year, AIIA stages the industry’s leading ICT awards program, the iAwards, which provides local companies and ICT students with a platform on which to showcase, and in many cases launch, Australia's ICT success stories.
